MEDER Electronic Inc. introduces its MMS line of surface-mount reed sensors. The micro machined miniature sensors, which are designed for a maximum of 3 volts direct current (VDC), are ideal for medical pacemakers and insulin pumps, as well as telecommunications and cell phones.
The electrostatic sensitive MMS sensor features 109 MΩ insulation resistance across the contacts and is magnet-actuated, requiring no power consumption. The sensor is available in a high shock resistance surface mount device (SMD) package measuring only 0.188-inches long, 0.484-inches wide and 0.047-inches high. It comes in two lead designs: flat, straight and flat, bent. The MMS sensor line also includes a raw switch die form, measuring only 0.130-inches long, 035-inches wide and 0.022-inches high.
