BEAR Power Supplies has received a design contract to create a custom 420-W ac-dc power supply for L-3 Communications’ Cincinnati Electronics Division. Among other custom features, the rugged power supply will feature an RS-232 interface for controlling on/off and monitoring temperature and performance. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
"We are pleased that L-3 has selected us to contribute to its mission-critical systems,” says Michael Allen, president of BEAR Power Supplies. “We look forward to supporting its need for rugged, reliable custom power supplies designed and made in the USA.”
L-3’s Cincinnati Electronics designs and produces innovative infrared sensors, hybrid microelectronics and cryogenics for autonomous guidance, situational awareness, threat warning and targeting. L-3 Communications is a prime contractor in Command, Control and Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C³ISR), Government Services, Aircraft Modernization and Maintenance (AM&M) and specialized products.
