Linear Technology’s LTM4608 adds to the company’s low voltage μModule dc-dc regulator family, and can be used as a compact and high-reliability POL regulator. The module’s low profile and light weight enable back-side pc-board mounting, freeing room on the top side for other ICs.
The device supports an input range of 2.375 V to 5.5 V. The output supplies from 0.8 V to 5.0 V at up to 8 A. For higher-power designs, multiple regulators can be paralleled to deliver up to 60 W while evenly sharing the load current. Completely housed in a 2.8 mm x 9 mm x 15 mm LGA package, 1000-piece pricing for the module starts at $11.30 each.
