Linear Technology’s LTM4600HVMPV is a complete and encapsulated 10-A (14-A peak) synchronous switching stepdown dc-dc regulator system. It is the first device in the μModule family of dc-dc regulators designed for rugged military and avionics applications. This device is offered in a 15-mm x 15-mm x 2.8-mm military plastic LGA package that has been qualified by military system designers as the preferred package for high power dc-dc solutions because of its lower thermal impedance when compared to a similar size BGA package.
The LTM4600HVMPV is a switch-mode dc-dc regulator with built-in inductor, supporting power components and compensation circuitry. The device operates from an input supply range of 4.5 V to 28 V and regulates an output voltage from 0.6 V to 5 V. The regulator achieves efficiencies as high as 92%. The module requires only input and output bulk capacitors and a resistor to set the output voltage. The LTM4600HVMPV is fully tested over the temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. The 1000-piece pricing starts at $36.95 each.
