Development Centers Expand Analog and Power Portfolios

Freescale Semiconductor is expanding its standard analog and power management product portfolio to address the growing demand for analog solutions in consumer and industrial applications. Three development centers have been opened to expand the offering of highly integrated, power-efficient analog products and system-level solutions.

Freescale has opened the Silicon Valley Development Center in Milipitas, Calif.; the Southern California Development Center in Irvine, Calif.; and the Shanghai Design/Applications Center in China. These three centers will provide customers with system-level support and applications-engineering capabilities for analog and power-management designs in the consumer and industrial market, as well as local integrated circuit design capabilities.

According to recent studies by the Gartner and Hearst Business Group, the analog integrated circuit market has reached a new high of $37.5 billion, 16.5% of the total semiconductor market revenue of $227.3 billion in 2005. This market is expected to have an average growth of 10% per year, with a gross margin of more than 60% percent in various sectors of this market.
