Emerson Network Power tackled fuel cell technology as a backup power solution for telecom providers during a panel discussion at the Communications Power Conference in Cleveland. The Communications Power Conference provided a venue for Emerson Network Power to educate the market about the advantages of fuel cells, as well as address issues and concerns about the technology’s adoption.
“The increasing network power requirements necessitate the creation of alternative backup power sources. Fuel cells offer distinct advantages to incumbent technologies and we, in Emerson Network Power, want our partners and customers to be able to utilize those advantages,” said Steve McKinney, vice president and general manager of dc Power, Energy Systems North America. Emerson Network Power is also forging partnerships with key fuel cell technology providers in the United States to provide integrated fuel cell power and cabinet solutions for its customers.
