DOSA Establishes Second-Generation POL Standards

Jun 13, 2007 12:27 PM

The Distributed-power Open Standards Alliance (DOSA) has announced the second-generation standard footprint and pinout design for 12-A and 20-A nonisolated POL dc-dc converters. This generation significantly increases current density to meet industry demand for high-density POL modules. The standard establishes the location of pins, recommended pad layout on customer boards, input- and output-voltage ranges and critical features and parameters required for interoperability and second sourcing.

DOSA was formed to ensure future dc-dc product compatibility and standardization within the power converter industry. In addition to DOSA founding members Tyco Electronics Power Systems and SynQor, current members include C&D Technologies, Lambda/TDK, Delta, Ericsson, Artesyn/Emerson, Wall Industries, Acbel and Belpower.
