12-A POLs are DOSA Compliant

Apr 9, 2008 2:42 PM

From Lineage Power, the 5/12Vin MicroTLynx dc-dc, point-of-load converters (POLs) are open-frame modules designed per the latest DOSA standard footprint specification to provide high power, high density, and fast transient response in a variety of board-mounted power applications. These POLs represent the third generation of Lynx converters from the company formerly known as Tyco Electronics Power Systems

Device type: 12-A point of load modules
Part numbers: APTS012A0X3-SRZ and APTS012A0X43-SRZ
Input voltage range: 4.5 V to 14 V
Output voltage: 0.69 V to 5.5 V, programmable via an external resistor.
Efficiency: same as Lynx series but with improved thermal performance; at VIN = 5 V and VOUT = 0.69 V, efficiency versus load for the 12-V model peaks at about 88%; at VIN = 4.5 V and VOUT = 1.8 V, efficiency versus load for the 12-V model peaks at about 95%
Features: DOSA-compliant footprint, “Tunable-Loop” feature that allows engineers to optimize the control loop to significantly improve transient response and reduce external filtering, 550-kHz switching frequency, programmable output voltage, remote on/off, remote sense, power good, monotonic start up, EZ-SEQUENCE, and ability to synchronize with external clock
Protection features: overcurrent and overtemperature protection
Operating temperature range: -40°C to +85°C
Packaging: 0.8 in x 0.45 in x 0.334 in, open-frame LGA module
RoHS compliant? yes
Target applications: board-mounted power applications
Pricing: around $10 each in quantities of 5000
Availability: samples are available Data sheet? Yes, see http://power.tycoelectronics.com/BinaryGet.
