Spotlight on Digital Power
MicroPower Direct's MPM-40 series is a family of compact, 40W switching power supplies. These high performance, encapsulated modules include a universal AC input, full safety approvals, robust filtering and high reliability. Thirteen standard models operate from a universal input of 90 to 264 VAC; providing tightly regulated single, dual and triple outputs of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15, 24, ±5, ±12, ±15, 5/12, 5/24, 5/±12, or 5/±15 VDC. Standard features include filtering to EN 55022 Class B, input/output isolation of 3,000 VAC, and compliance to EN 61000-4. All models are protected for over load, over voltage over temperature and short circuit faults.
The MPM-40 has a Class II input (IEC61140). This means it can be used without an earth ground connection. The MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) of the MPM-40 series is greater than 200 khours. All models are approved to EN 60950. The series is certified to CE and is RoHS compliant.
The MPM-40 series is packaged in a compact 3.5 x 2.5 x 0.98 inch board mount case. The pin-out is industry standard. Optional DIN rail mounting and Chassis mounting models are available. Each model is specified for operation over the wide operating temperature range of -25°C to +70°C (ambient).
The MPM-40 series is an ideal solution for a variety of applications requiring high performance, compact size and economy. Applications would include industrial automation systems, machine/process control equipment, and telecommunications/data processing systems. With its Class II input, the MPM-40 series is a good choice for remote or portable equipment where a reliable ground is often not available.
