Website Provides Energy-Harvesting Resources

Apr 11, 2007 3:59 PM

The Energy Harvesting Forum has launched a website (www.energyharvesting.net) to provide information on small-scale energy harvesting technologies that can power wireless sensor networks. Using the site, developers can find links to companies that provide piezoelectric materials, thermoelectric components, photoelectric components, electronic components, wireless system networks and MEMS solutions. The technology featured on the site are purpose-built to harness ambient and waste energy sources that can potentially replace batteries and grid power.

“To make energy harvesting a source of long-lasting and reliable energy for practical applications, companies need to collaborate in order to bring commercial solutions to market,” said Michele Kinman, director of EnergyHarvesting.net. “This website was started to attract all the developers in the field to one place to find the solutions they need to speed time to market and time to revenue. Today is only the start of what we believe will be a more comprehensive online resource in this important emerging technology field.”
