C&D Technologies Staffs Sales and Marketing Postions

C&D Technologies, Power Electronics Division, has announced the promotion of John Parent from Director, West Coast Sales to Director of Sales for North America. Reporting to Tony Abrantes, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Parent will be responsible for managing the Tier II and Tier III broad-market accounts through his team of Regional Sales Managers, manufacturer’s representatives and distributors. In a further new appointment, the company has named Bill Schmidt as its Regional Manager for the Midwest and Eastern Canada.

John Parent brings over 30 years of sales and marketing management experience in the power supply market place to his new role. Prior to joining C&D Technologies in October 2003 as Regional Manager for the West Coast, he spent time working for companies such as Astec and Artesyn. In November 2005 he was promoted to Director of West Coast Area Sales. Bill Schmidt comes to C&D from Qlogic where he held several senior sales positions. Prior to that he was a Regional Sales Manager for over 12 years at Xytec and later worked at Artesyn.
