Spotlight on Digital Power
Astrodyne’s two series of ultra-miniature, open-frame modular switching power supplies are designed to meet the space and performance parameters needed in medical and dental instrumentation and systems. Measuring 2 in. x 4 in. x 1.2 in., both the ASM40 and ASM60 series provide power densities greater than 6 W/in3. The ASM40/ASM60 series accepts inputs ranging from 85 Vac to 265 Vac, and both are available in eleven models which provide single and dual outputs of 5 Vdc to 48 Vdc.
All models contain overvoltage and short circuit protection circuitry and internal input filtering. All models also feature Molex-style I/O connectors. The ASM40/ASM60 series are fully approved to UL/EN60601-1 medical safety specifications. Commercially approved, non-medical versions are also available. Prices start at $18 in OEM quantities.
