Provided in the ultra low profile PowerDIBŪ-5SP package, the 12A rated SBR12U45LH Super Barrier Rectifier (SBRBŪ) from Diodes Incorporated addresses key design and manufacturing concerns of solar panel makers producing next generation PV modules.
In its critical role as a highly efficient PV module bypass diode, this latest SBR has a maximum package height of only 0.75mm, enabling it to be integrated within the solar panel, effectively removing the need for separate junction boxes. With package-side located leads, the PowerDI-5SP can be mounted into recesses in the back layers, adding only 0.21mm to total solar panel depth. In addition, the 9mm long leads of the package support simple solder bar mounting, so helping solar panel manufacturers avoid the use of expensive solder processes.
As an alternative to traditional axial lead diodes, the SBR12U45LH offers the industry's lowest forward voltage drop for a rectifier at 0.38V at 12A and 125 °C, ensuring negligible heat generation and temperature rise during operation, resulting in safer and more reliable operation of solar panels.
Fully functional over the temperature range from -65 °C to 200 °C, the rectifier meets long life warranty requirements and is compliant with the thermal test requirement of Solar Safety Standard IEC61730-2.
The SBR12U45LH super barrier rectifier from Diodes Incorporated is priced at $ 0.6 USD each in quantities of 50k.
