Spotlight on Digital Power
Linear Technology has introduced a military plastic grade (MP-grade) version of its LTC3414 4-MHz synchronous buck regulator, which uses a constant frequency, current mode architecture. It can deliver up to 4 A continuous at voltages as low as 0.8 V from a thermally enhanced TSSOP-20 package.
Device type: Synchronous buck regulator
Input voltage range: 2.25 V to 5.5 V
Output voltage range: 0.8 V to VIN
Quiescent Current: 64 µA with no load, <1 µA in
shutdown
Features: 4-MHz constant frequency operation, burst-mode operation at light loads, efficiency up to 95%, ±2.5% output voltage accuracy, 100% duty cycle, overtemperature protection
Operating junction temperature range: -55°C to 125°C
Packaging: TSSOP-20 package
RoHS compliant?
Target applications: products powered by single cell Li-Ion, or NiMH batteries as well as more general-purpose fixed-rail systems in military or aerospace applications
Pricing: starts at $8.23 each in 1,000-piece quantities.
Availability: available now
