Sep 27, 2006 2:33 PM

Magnetek has announced that Dr. Juan Luglio has joined Magnetek's Power Control Systems group as Development Manager for Wireless Products. Magnetek's Power Control Systems group, located in Menomonee Falls, Wis., develops digital power products and systems.

Dr. Luglio has worked in the microwave and RF electronic design industry for over 15 years and specializes in two-way telecommunications applications.  Prior to joining Magnetek, Dr. Luglio was Director of Hardware Engineering at Silver Spring Networks, a telecommunications company specializing in automatic meter reading over a two-way wireless network. He has also held positions at the Medical College of Wisconsin as a Microwave Engineer, and at Motorola as an RF Design Engineer. Dr. Luglio holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University.

The addition of Dr. Luglio is part of Magnetek's ongoing strategic growth initiative in new product development. The company is currently adding engineers in critical technology positions in power conversion, control, and wireless design. "Wireless control is an important strategic and growth opportunity for Magnetek," noted Bill Weber, Magnetek's Vice President of Product Development. "We are pleased that Dr. Luglio has joined us as we continue to expand our wireless product lines to meet the needs and enhance the success of our customers. His proven expertise in wireless technology and his leadership in similar growth ventures makes him an ideal addition to the Magnetek product development team."
