CUI Inc.'s Power line announced the release of ac-dc LED drivers designed for driving high powered LEDs. These constant current drivers offer flicker free operation when used with standard triac based incandescent dimmers. This makes them perfect for retrofitting existing applications or for integration into new systems that will use standard triac or electronic low voltage dimming devices.
The VLED15 series can be ordered in either 115 Vac or 230 Vac inputs and come in eleven different output current configurations, ranging from 350 mA to 1.5 A. All units include active power correction and will operate up to a case temperature of 90°C without de-rating. Protections for over voltage, over current, over temperature, and short circuit are also included.
"These new compact LED drivers are ideally suited for use with industry standard lighting controls and provide a great solution for applications in the growing solid state lighting market," stated Kraig Kawada, CUI's Director of Core Product Management. The VLED15 series is available through Digi-Key starting at $30.01. Please contact CUI for OEM pricing.
