Austriamicrosystems AS1331 is a synchronous buck-boost DC/DC converter which can handle input voltages above, below, or equal to the output voltage. Due to the internal structure of the AS1331 which is working continuously through all operation modes this device is ideal for single cell Li-Ion and multicell alkaline/NiCad/NiMH applications.
The AS1331 operates on lquiescent current of 22ľA, resulting in efficiency up to 90% over a wide range of load currents. Combined with a shutdown current of typically 100nA, the AS1331 extends the lifetime of battery powered applications to a maximum. Input voltage range is 1.8V to 5.5V and output voltage 2.5V, 3.0V, 3.3V (fixed) and 2.5V to 3.3V (adjustable). Output current is 300mA @ 3.3V.
The AS1331 allows a small solution footprint and external component count is also minimized. For power monitoring the AS1331 offers either low battery detection or a power-ok feature offering flexibility for the design of applications. Additionally, the AS1331 offers current limiting, thermal shutdown, power good, short-circuit protection, low battery detection and output disconnect.
The AS1331 is available in a 10-pin 3x3mm TDFN package with fixed and adjustable output voltage.
