Allegro MicroSystems announced the release of a new family of fully integrated current sensor in a new core-less package designed to sense AC and DC currents up to 100 A. Allegro's ACS780/ACS781 are provided in this new automotive-grade, low-profile (1.5 mm thick) sensor IC package that represents the highest current density of any Allegro current sensor IC package to date. This new package has a very small footprint and delivers extremely high power density for your current sensing applications. The Hall sensor technology also incorporates common-mode field rejection to optimize performance in the presence of interfering magnetic fields generated by nearby current-carrying conductors.
The devices consist of a precision, low-offset linear Hall circuit with a copper conduction path located near the die. Applied current flowing through this copper conduction path generates a magnetic field which the Hall IC converts into a proportional voltage. Device accuracy is optimized through the close proximity of the primary conductor to the Hall transducer and factory programming of the sensitivity and zero-ampere output voltage at the Allegro factory.
Chopper-stabilized signal path and digital temperature compensation technology also contribute to the stability of the devices across the operating temperature range. High-level immunity to current conductor dV/dt and stray electric fields is offered by Allegro proprietary integrated shield technology, for low-output voltage ripple and low-offset drift in high-side, high-voltage applications. The internal resistance of this conductive path is 200 mW typical, providing low power loss. The thickness of the copper conductor allows survival of the devices at high overcurrent conditions.

The CoolX600 can be populated with up to 4 CoolMods, providing up to four isolated DC outputs ranging from 2.5V to 58.0V. The CoolX600 offers customers the greatest flexibility and is completely user and field configurable. Outputs can be configured to the required set point voltages and connected in parallel of series for higher output current and/or higher output voltages.
Linear Technology announced the LT6658, a precision voltage reference that incorporates two high current output buffers. Based on a 2.5V bandgap voltage reference, each output can be separately configured for any voltage between 2.5V and 6V. Both outputs offer 0.05% initial accuracy, 10ppm/°C temperature drift and only 1.5ppm of low frequency noise. The outputs can drive up to 50mA and 150mA, respectively, and sink up to 20mA. Typical load regulation is only 0.1ppm/mA with up to 150mA of load current. In parallel, the buffer outputs can be combined for even higher current capability.
The LT6658 is ideal for driving the reference input for a high resolution ADC or DAC using one output, while simultaneously supplying power to other devices using the second output. Both outputs track each other over temperature and load, allowing them to address applications requiring ratiometric supply rails. The outputs have excellent supply rejection and are stable with up to 50µF over the entire specified operating range. With this output capability, the LT6658 can serve as both reference and regulator combined. Alternatively, the LT6658 can be used to generate a reference plus a virtual ground, or as two matched, tracking references.

XP Power announced the new IML02 & ISM02 miniature 2W rated DC-DC converters for use in medical device applications that require safety isolation between the input and output.
These converters provide 4000 VAC reinforced isolation with 1 x MOPP at 300 VAC (250 VAC model IML02) working voltage and, ideal for use in patient connected devices, have a very low 2 µA patient leakage current. Featuring 2W of output power and with both single and dual voltage output models, the converters are available in an SMD package (model ISM02) or a through hole, industry standard SIP7 package (model IML02).
The converters' small size takes up less PCB space, and in both cases afford the product designer with more room to add extra features, or alternatively reduce the overall size of the end product. The IML02 is available in four different input voltage ranges for nominal 5, 12,15 or 24VDC inputs, while the ISM02 is available in three ranges for 5, 12 and 24VDC input applications. The ISM02 offers single output models of 5, 12, 15V, and +/-12V and +/-15V dual output models, while the IML02 has 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15V and +\- dual versions of each voltage.
Torex Semiconductor introduced the XD9260/61 series is a high speed transient response 1.5A synchronous step/down DC/DC converter. The extremely fast load transient performance is as a result of a new High Speed Circuit Architecture for Transient with Constant On Time (Hi-SAT COT) control method, which, when compared to standard Constant On Time (COT) control, provides less fluctuation in oscillation frequency against load and input voltage.
The unique Hi-SAT COT architecture enables ultra-fast transient response, low ripple and high efficiency while using small external components that optimize PCB mounting area for space saving. Hi-SAT COT is able to dynamically adjust the on-time duration based on the input voltage, output voltage, and load current so that it can achieve relative constant frequency operation. Constant switching frequency minimizes the EMI interference at some sensitive bands of certain frequencies in the system.
Schaffner introduces the new FN 22xx HV and FN 33xx HV standard filters for high current applications for 690 VAC and 1,500 VDC PV inverters, converters and motor drives. These innovative filters are optimized for the requirements of photovoltaic, power conversion, energy storage and motor control systems.
Together with appropriately sized 690 VAC EMC/EMI filters FN 331x HV on the line side, the new FN 221x HV DC filters help to meet the limits of binding EMC standards for PV installations in Europe and other regions. Further, the 1,500 VDC filter FN 221x HV will help to increase the service life of the solar panel, improve its reliability, and reduce potential interference radiations of the panel, by keeping away the inverter-born high-frequency and leakage currents.

GaN Systems launches a daughterboard-style evaluation kit to help power design engineers easily evaluate the GaN E-HEMT performance in any system design, along with a universal motherboard (GS665MB-EVB). The family of four daughterboards ranging from 750 W to 2,500 W consists of two GaN Systems 650 V GaN Enhancement-mode HEMTs (E-HEMTs) and all necessary circuits, including half-bridge gate drivers, isolated power supplies and an optional heatsink to form a high performance half bridge power stage.

GaN Systems is also launching the GS61008P-EVBBK, a highly efficient 48 V to 12 V synchronous buck converter based on the GS61008P 100 V, 90 A GaN E-HEMT. This system demonstrates very high efficiency at frequencies up to 2 MHz, commonly desired in 48 V systems.
Infineon Technologies launched Power PROFET, a new ultra-low ohmic smart high-side switch family. These protected switches offer the lowest on-resistance and the highest energy capability on the market. They enable the replacement of electromechanical relays and fuses in power distribution and junction boxes up to 40A DC.
The Power PROFET switches feature on-resistances down to 1.0mW and are specially designed to drive high-current applications. These comprise power feeds of electronic control units (ECUs), auxiliary power outlets, PTC heaters or rear window heaters. The switches are also well-suited for applications with high switching cycles and high energy requirements such as starter relays in "start-stop" systems and electric brake vacuum pumps. Power PROFET switches improve vehicle system reliability. They offer integrated protection functions and diagnostics functionality including, for example, short circuit protection and over-temperature protection.
The switches provide an outstanding protection performance of more than 1,000,000 short-circuit cycles, achieving Grade A according to AEC-Q100. In case of a single over-current event, a re-start strategy can be implemented via a software reset. There is no need to access or replace a part any longer. At the system level, Power PROFET switches enable a more accurate system sizing. Also, they simplify significantly the wire harness architecture by reducing the lengths of many wires or removing them completely.
Power Integrations introduced its LinkSwitch-TN2 off-line switcher IC for non-isolated applications with up to 360 mA output current. The new device, which may be configured as a buck, buck-boost or a non-isolated flyback converter, delivers high accuracy, high efficiency and excellent no-load performance. The device incorporates new safety features including input and output over-voltage protection and a rugged MOSFET with a 725 V breakdown voltage, offering robust output short-circuit and over-temperature protection against line surges and swells. Applications include appliances, HVAC, industrial, home automation, and metering systems, particularly those destined for India and other geographies with challenging power grid stability.
The new devices are very efficient in low-power applications- above 80 % in 12 V, 120 mA (1.4 W) buck designs for example. LinkSwitch-TN2 designs typically provide excellent efficiency across the entire load range while consuming less than 30 mW no-load in a buck arrangement and less than 10 mW when configured as a non-isolated flyback. This is a key tool for designers addressing Total Energy Consumption (TEC) regulations, which prescribe an energy budget limit over a range of operating modes. LinkSwitch-TN2 efficiency performance enables manufacturers to design power supplies to meet worldwide product energy-efficiency requirements from the U.S. DOE, European Commission ErP Ecodesign Directive, California Energy Commission, ENERGY STAR, and others.
