Zetex Semiconductors pair of low-voltage PNP transistors, the ZXTP25020CFF and ZXTP19020DFF, feature low saturation voltages and high currents, serving as cost-effective switchers in a variety of slim-line portable applications. The ZXTP25020CFF eliminates the need for a Schottky-diode requirement by guaranteeing a reverse blocking capability of 7 V. In high-side switching and load or disconnect switches, the ZXTP19020DFF reduces the voltage drop to 70 mV at 1 A with a 20-mA base drive, or 160 mV at 2 A with a 40-mA base drive. These drops can be extrapolated to an equivalent resistance of 70 mΩ in a 2.5-mm x 3-mm footprint.
The SOT23FF package improves thermal resistance up to 158ºC/W, providing a power rating of 0.8 W from a 15-mm x 15-mm pc-board area. Compared to standard SOT23 solutions, this is a substantial increase in power density, which can rise up to 1.96 W in applications with a pc-board area of 50 mm x 50 mm. Available now, the ZXTP25020CFF is unit priced at $0.17, and the ZXTP19020DFF is unit priced at $0.21, both in 10,000-piece quantities.
