Designed to connect across the AC input of a line powered device, Illinois Capacitor's new "THB" Series capacitors suppress radio frequency interference (RFI) in products that must operate out-of-doors or in other harsh environments. The THB Series meets a full complement of safety agency X2 Class approvals, including UL, CSA, VDE and many others. In the event of a failure, X2 Class devices do not present an electrical shock hazard to users of the equipment. Environmental performance is exceptional, with -40 °C to 110 °C with 85% RH standard.
With self-healing metallized polypropylene film construction, THB interference suppressors provide excellent electrical and environmental performance. Capacitance ranges from 0.0047 to 2.2 F, at 300/310VAC, 50-60Hz. Maximum peak voltage is 1200 V. The solvent-resistant, box-style plastic case and epoxy seal are both UL 94V-0 flame retardant. Ultra-fast charge/discharge cycling; low ESR; Max. 3A current pulses.
The Illinois Capacitor THB series can be a practical way to provide the additional RFI suppression needed to meet FCC or other regulatory approvals. Applications include outdoor appliances, ATMs, vending machines, kiosks, motor controls, AC line suppression, industrial controls, power supplies, ballasts and antenna coupling.
