Spotlight on Digital Power
Bringing new functionality to data center power protection, the first enterprise class uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with built-in Web server capabilities is now available from MGE UPS Systems Inc. In addition to leading-edge connectivity options, MGE’s new EPS8000 UPS assures true Digital Power Quality (DPQ) for enterprise applications in models from 555 kVA to 800 kVA, with best-in-class efficiency, power density and generator compatibility for long-duration backup requirements. For maximum reliability, the system incorporates triple redundant power sources (line, load and battery) as well as fault-tolerant circuitry to ensure that fan failure won’t compromise UPS operation.
Fitting into locations as small as 121-in. wide, the space-conscious design of the EPS8000 offers one of the highest power densities available in this class of UPS at 23 kW per square foot, while the integrated isolation transformer and input filter eliminate the need for bulky auxiliary cabinets. Users can access all EPS8000 components from the front of the cabinet with no rear access required, reducing footprint requirements even further by allowing installation in any unused corner.
