The LT6660 from Linear Technology is a precision series voltage reference in a 3-lead 2-mm × 2-mm DFN package. These compact devices combine 0.2% initial accuracy and 20-ppm drift with micro-power operation, and require less than half the space of the SOT-23 package. Furthermore, the LT6660 does not require an output compensation capacitor.
The LT6660 accepts input voltages up to 30 V and can withstand reverse-battery conditions. The output voltages include 2.5 V, 3 V, 3.3 V, 5 V and 10 V. With a dropout of only 900 mV, this tiny device is suitable for precision regulator applications because it can supply up to 20 mA of current. Because it needs no output compensation capacitor, the LT6660 also is suited to applications with intrinsic safety requirements.
The LT6660 is in full production. Prices start at $0.88 each in 1000-piece quantities.
