Cooper Bussmann, through its electronics business unit, Cooper Electronic Technologies, has announced a cooperative marketing initiative with STMicroelectronics focused on the global telecommunications market. Cooper Bussmann, a supplier of telecom fuses, and STMicroelectronics, a supplier of silicon protection products for telecom use, will cooperate in the promotion of complementary telecom products and in the definition of new products, with the intent to provide a complete protection solution set to telecom segment customers.
“Each company will continue to manufacture and sell its own branded products, but joint application testing creates a coordinated protection solution that practically eliminates the design risk associated with telecom circuit protection,” said Helio Sakaya, vice president of sales, Cooper Electronic Technologies.
“This relationship will be of significance to all of our customers to help them easily design full protection solutions complying with worldwide telecom standards,” said Ricardo de Sa Earp, general manager, ASD & Discrete Division, STMicroelectronics. “This cooperation combines ST’s years of experience with its Trisil and integrated circuit protection devices with the recognized telecom market presence and quality of fuses from Bussmann.”
