Spotlight on Digital Power
Phihong USA, a supplier of electronic accessories and power supplies, has been recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Program for its commitment to developing environmentally friendly products. The Innovation Award Eco Design winners, announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, were organizations chosen for their outstanding contributions to environmental protection and energy efficiency through their partnerships with ENERGY STAR.
At the presentation, the EPA assistant administrator announced the new external power supply specification and recognized Phihong as an early participant in the program. Phihong has helped define the specifications and ensuring the requirements were aggressive but economically achievable.
In the last 12 months, Phihong has developed many products that provide high energy efficiency and low standby power. Consequently, these products will be compliant with ENERGY STAR requirements with no additional cost or approvals required.
At the award presentation, the EPA displayed one of Phihong’s PSM05R series products, which consumes just 0.1 W compared to 1.5 W for an existing off the shelf solution.
