Valence Technology Inc., a leader in the development and commercialization of Saphion technology, a safe large-format Lithium-ion (Li-ion) rechargeable battery technology, has been honored as a Top 100 Innovator by Red Herring. Valence was chosen for the high-performance, safe, low-cost and environmentally friendly attributes of its energy storage solutions. Saphion technology increases the reach of Li-ion technology and appeals to a broad range of applications from mission-critical telecom back-up systems to enabling innovative motive solutions in everything from wheelchairs to truck fleet applications. The award was presented at the Red Herring Fall Conference in Monterey, Calif., on December 8th.
Red Herring’s editorial staff evaluated more than 1200 submissions from 900 companies. The editors carefully analyzed company data as well as subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development.
“Red Herring’s recognition of Valence as a top innovator is a testament to our progress, and a validation of the impact we are having on the battery industry,” said Stephan Godevais, chairman and CEO of Valence Technology Inc. “We will continue to expand our market reach and bring Saphion technology into large battery systems that require high performance and safety.”
