A toroidal inductor design from Actown Electrocoil allows many more turns per single layer of windings than conventional toroids. In keeping with a single-layer geometry, the TIGHTpak toroids operate closer to ideal than multiple-layer toroids. In allowing more turns per single layer of windings, TIGHTpak toroids have up to three times more inductance, are up to 50% smaller, run up to 60% cooler, and are more EMI friendly than multi-layer devices.
