Electronics Acquisition LLC, a subsidiary of capacitor supplier Cornell Dubilier Electronics Inc., has acquired the Metal Clad Mica Capacitor Division of SEMCO (Silvered Electronic Mica Co.) located in Willimantic, Conn. This deal follows Electronics Acquisition’s Dec. 17, 2004, purchase of SEMCO’s Dipped Mica Capacitor Division.
SEMCO has been manufacturing mica capacitors for more than 25 years. The SEMCO acquisitions will complement Cornell Dubilier’s mica product line, which is headquartered at the company’s New Bedford, Mass., facility
This announcement marks the fifth acquisition that Cornell Dubilier has made in the past three years, including the distributor division of NACC Mallory Products Group, the DC Electrolytic portion of BC Components and York Capacitor Corp.
