The latest Powerex Power Module Loss Simulator, TLISIM Version 1.02, is now available on the Powerex web site (www.pwrx.com). TLISIM provides assistance in selecting the best power semiconductor device for three level inverter (neutral point clamp) applications. It is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, and VISTA.
TLISIM is applicable for simulating sinusoidal output three level inverter modes of IGBT operation. It includes the functionality found in MELCOSIM (Mitsubishi Average Loss Simulation Software), including junction temperature and power loss calculations, but is designed specifically for three level inverter applications. (Access to MELCOSIM is also available via the Powerex website.)
TLISIM displays the phase-to-phase output voltage and the module topology during the calculation process. All Powerex TLI modules are incorporated into the program's device library and the library is continuously updated as new products are released. This program also offers fast algorithms, structured I/O windows, and exportable file formats.
To download a free copy of TLISIM access the Powerex website at www.pwrx.com and click on the "Three Level Inverter Simulator" control found on the right side of the homepage. If you are not already registered on the site, you will be asked to register.
