Nexergy, a designer, integrator, and manufacturer of battery packs and chargers, has appointed Chris Turner as its director of battery technology. In this position, Turner will manage the design of leading-edge battery systems for Nexergy’s global customer base. He will be responsible for battery cell strategy, technology road mapping, cell qualification, and technical training.

Turner brings to Nexergy more than thirteen years of experience in strategic development of portable power solutions. For six years, he led battery research and strategic planning in energy technology for Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications USA (SEMC). At SEMC, he was an integral part of the global team that successfully introduced lithium polymer batteries to the consumer electronics market in 1999 and safety circuit free rechargeable lithium batteries in 2003. Prior to SEMC, he worked as a scientist with AER Energy Resources and Gates Aerospace Batteries. Turner holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina.
