New Label Authenticates RoHS Compliance

TUV Rheinland of North America, a company specializing in compliance engineering, testing and certification for domestic and worldwide markets, has unveiled a compliance label for companies that wish to certify that their products meet the Restriction of Hazardous Waste (RoHS) directive, which goes into effect in Europe in July. The labeling system is part of TUV Rheinland of North America’s TWRS: “Total WEEE/RoHS Management Solutions.” TWRS is a new service for companies looking to ensure compatibility with the WEEE and RoHS directives.

“TUV Rheinland’s new labeling for RoHS compliance lets system manufacturers prove to the EU that they are RoHS compliant and using RoHS-compliant components in the manufacture of their product. Where space is limited, we can provide a modified label,” says Geoffrey Bock, WEEE/RoHS program manager for TUV Rheinland of North America.

“This new labeling system is part of our TWRS program, a complete suite of WEEE and RoHS management services that offers companies assistance every step of the way from training and education, to product design and review, test reports, calculation of recovery and recycling rates, all the way up to getting them registered with each country in the European Union,” says Bock.
