Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has introduced another low-profile, high-current inductor series for voltage regulator module (VRM) and dc-to-dc converter applications. Like IHLP inductors from Vishay Dale, the IHLM-2525CZ-01 series features low dc resistance per microhenry for inductors in a package that measures size -0.255 in. × 0.270 in. with a 0.118-in. (3-mm) profile.
A molded construction also gives IHLM devices a higher dielectric withstanding voltage that allows for enhanced protection against electrical shock. Resistant to moisture, salt, and chemicals, the IHLM-2525CZ-01 performs reliably in automotive applications and other extreme environments. Additional applications will include next-generation mobile communications devices, notebook and desktop computers, and servers.
The IHLM-2525CZ-01 series is specified for saturation currents ranging from 7 A to 60 A and for typical DCR values ranging from 1.5 mΩ to 102 mΩ. It is designed to handle high transient current spikes without saturation.
Samples and production quantities of the new IHLM-2525CZ-01 low-profile, high-current inductors are available now. Pricing for U.S. delivery-only in 10,000-piece quantities ranges from $0.63 to $0.76, depending on inductance rating.
