High-current SMD Inductors Provide EMI Protection

Aug 31, 2005 1:43 PM

The advanced DR363 and DR364 Series surface-mount inductors from Datatronic Distribution are available in a wide range of inductance values. The DR363 and DR364 Series inductors can provide EMI circuit protection for dc-dc converters, digital still cameras (DSCs), digital video cameras (DVCs) and PDAs. Depending on the specific model, the DR363 and 364 Series inductors feature an inductance range from 2.0 uH to 150 uH, with an operating frequency range from 10 kHz to 1 MHz, a maximum DCR from 19.2 Ω to 738 Ω and a maximum current rating from 0.31 A to 5.41 A.

With a rugged design, the compact DR363 and DR364 Series inductors come in packages as small as 0.248-in. wide × 0.244-in. long and 0.118-in. high. Their flat top surface makes them compatible with high-speed pick-and-place assembly equipment, and they also are suitable for high-temperature soldering.

Custom-designed DR363 and DR364 Series inductor packages can be specified to meet unique circuit requirements, and all materials meet UL 94V-0 requirements. The DR363 and DR364 Series Inductors are priced from $0.25 each in production volumes.
