50-W Half-brick Offers 4-to-1 Input Range

Nov 16, 2005 10:50 AM

V-Infinity has introduced a new line of industry-standard half-brick dc-dc converters featuring a 4-to-1 input voltage range. The 50-W VHB50W Series is housed in a 5-sided aluminum case, making it suitable for a number of telecom and industrial product applications. The units are available with 9-V to 36-V or 18-V to 72-Vdc inputs and offer efficiencies up to 84%. The VHB50W series delivers output voltages ranging from 2.5 V to 24 V with the VHB50W-DXX Series, and 3.3 V to 24 V with the VHB50W-QXX Series.

The units operate with a switching frequency of 300 kHz. They also offer 1500-Vdc isolation voltage, line and load regulation of 0.20%, and an operating case temperature of -40°C to 100°C. Features include positive or negative logic remote on/off, remote sense, continuous short-circuit protection, overcurrent protection, and overtemperature protection. Exact dimensions of the VHB50W measure 2.28 in. × 2.40 in. × 0.50 in., with an industry-standard half-brick pin-out. OEM pricing starts at $45 per unit.
