Enpirion Adds Vice President of Engineering

Enpirion Inc., a provider of integrated power solutions, has appointed Robert Rumbaugh as its vice president of engineering. Rumbaugh brings to Enpirion his 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with expertise in product design, design management, test engineering, cost management, quality and yield enhancement.

Rumbaugh joins Enpirion from Freescale (formerly Motorola SPS), where he played leadership roles in the Motorola SPS Radio Products division as the director of design operations and then director of product and test. During his time at Motorola, Rumbaugh also led the product development efforts for Motorola's start-up venture into field emission displays.

During his 25-year career in the semiconductor industry, Rumbaugh has served in a variety of design, development and leadership roles. Prior to Motorola, Rumbaugh spent eight years with tape drive maker Wangtek Corp., where he held several positions including vice president of advanced technology. Prior to Wangtek, he held several silicon design and design management positions with Silicon General and Motorola SPS focusing on power management, analog and mixed signal products. Rumbaugh holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico.
