Linear Technology Corp’s new LT3471 is a dual-channel (boost/inverter), 1.3-A, 1.2-MHz dc-dc converter packaged in a 3-mm × 3-mm DFN. It can be configured as a dual boost, a boost/inverter or a dual inverter, because the output voltage error amplifiers can sense to ground, providing boost or inverting control capability.
The LT3471 input voltage range of 2.4 V to 16 V makes it suitable for Li-Ion, multiple cell Alkaline/NiMH batteries, as well as 12-V power. The device's low V
The LT3471 switches are rated at 42 V, making the device ideal for boost converters up to 40 V as well as SEPIC and flyback designs. Each channel can generate 5 V at up to 630 mA from a 3.3-V supply, or 5 V at 360 mA from four alkaline cells in a SEPIC design. The LT3471 is available in a low profile (0.75 mm) 10-lead 3-mm × 3-mm DFN package.
The LT3471EDD is available from stock and pricing starts at $2.80 each for 1000-piece quantities.
