Spotlight on Digital Power
Power-One has announced that Arrow Electronics has been fully certified to implement Z-One Digital IBA power solutions for its customers.
Steve Goldman, Power-One’s chairman and CEO, said, “Arrow Electronics has been a great partner in its recognition and implementation of the broad range of customer benefits provided by the Z-One digital-power system. Arrow has met the certification requirements to become a Z-One Design Center by giving its Regional Power Specialists extensive technical training encompassing the full capabilities of the hardware-configurable Z-1000 No-Bus point-of-load converters, and the I²C programmable Z-7000 Series.”
Goldman concluded, “As the first distributor to achieve full Z-One Design Center certification, Arrow’s Power Specialists are trained to program the ZM7100 Digital Power Managers by using the highly-intuitive Z-One GUI design software, or by using industry-standard I²C protocols. This will allow them to design and simulate customized digital power systems for most applications in under an hour, compared to days of prototyping for analog designs.”
“Arrow Electronics sees tremendous value in cutting-edge, digital-power design with Z-One Digital IBA,” said Don Schlidt, vice president, Arrow PEMCO Supplier Services Group. “Our extensive sales network and technical resources dedicated to power supplies are ready to facilitate the design-win momentum of these revolutionary products.”
Power-One products are sold to telecommunications and Internet service providers and equipment manufacturers. Power-One, with headquarters in Camarillo, Calif., has global sales offices and manufacturing and R&D operations in China, the Dominican Republic, Ireland, Slovakia, Switzerland, and the United States.
