The EL7585A from Intersil is a high-efficiency, 4-channel dc-dc converter for use in large (19 in. and greater) thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display (TFT-LCD) applications, such as televisions and desktop monitors. The EL7585A features an integrated 3.5-A field-effect transistor (FET), providing high output power in large display panels. A pair of low-dropout (LDO) controllers provides regulation for the gate driver and supplies up to 36 V for the positive supply and down to –20 V for the negative supply.
The EL7585A also features a pulse width modulation (PWM) boost converter with a 3-V to 5-V input capability and an output of up to 16 V. A third LDO controller is used to provide a regulated logic supply voltage. The EL7585A is packaged in a lead-free, 20-pin QFN. It is priced at $1.33 in 1000-unit quantities.
