Battery Charging Transformers from Foster Transformer feature reliable ferroresonant technology that provides a tapered charge for fast recovery and maximum battery life. Coils are layer wound with interlayer insulation for maximum reliability and long service life. Suited for 120-V or 240-V input at 60 Hz, these designs are inherently protected against shorts and overloads. Foster Battery Charger Transformers are ideal for industrial battery charging applications, including electric lifts, tow motors, floor scrubbers, cart pushers, motorized pallet trucks, golf and industrial carts, and other equipment using lead acid storage batteries.
Models are available for standard battery voltages (12 V, 24 V, 36 V and 48 V), with output regulated against changes in line voltage. Output current ratings range from 7.5 A to 80 A. In addition, custom input and output voltages are available. UL Class 180 (H) insulation System is standard, UL File E50662. For use with ac motor run capacitors rated 370 Vac or higher. Custom designs can be accommodated at power levels ranging from 10 VA to 5000 VA. Complete assemblies also are available.
