Spotlight on Digital Power
Power-One’s 15-A ZY1015 No-Bus point-of-load converter (POL) features a low-profile horizontally-mounted package. This hardware-configurable digital POL provides power management capabilities without the need for programming, external controllers, or bus interfaces. Pin strapping, an external trim resistor, and a capacitor are all that is required for configuration.
Utilizing a 3-V to 14-V input range, the ZY1015 provides a 0.5-V to 5.5-V user-configurable output that can start up into pre-biased loads. Features include sequencing with configurable delays, frequency synchronization and programmable phase interleave, output current and temperature monitoring pins and current sharing of up to 10 POLs.
The ZY1015 combines a compact 16-mm x 32-mm SMT footprint with a low-profile 8-mm height. Samples are usually available from stock, and pricing is $10.40 each in quantities of 10,000.
