Amerigon Inc.'s BSST subsidiary has signed a long-term agreement with Visteon under which BSST will develop automotive seat heating and cooling products based on its proprietary thermoelectric device (TED) technology. The firms have been working under a memo of understanding since June 2003, and Amerigon chairman Bud Marx says Visteon’s decision to move forward affirms the technology’s potential. Amerigon uses the technology in climate-controlled seat systems for vehicles manufactured by Ford, General Motors, Nissan, Toyota and Hyundai.
