Valeo and IBM have launched an embedded software development initiative that’s expected to employ more than 80 engineers by the end of the year. The firms say their collaboration will allow Valeo to meet future AUTOSAR standards.
Recent market research shows that 90% of automotive innovation is expected to come from electronics by 2010, according to Valeo chairman and CEO Thierry Morin. “With the constantly rising amount of software code in automobiles, electronics expertise and reliable process development among suppliers have become vital.” Valeo employs 69,500 people in 27 countries.
