Spotlight on Digital Power
Catalyst Semiconductor Inc. and Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions Inc. (TAOS) have signed a non-exclusive agreement to promote each other’s products in solid-state illumination (SSI) systems.
Catalyst designs and manufactures white LED drivers, GPI/O expanders and digitally programmable potentiometers (DPP) use in for LED backlights, LCD displays and automotive/aircraft interior lighting. To effectively meet the system requirements of SSI, ambient light sensing (ALS) must be incorporated. TAOS, formerly Texas Instruments’ optoelectronic business unit, designs and markets color sensors, light-to-frequency converters and ambient light sensors.
