Spotlight on Digital Power
Navteq, which supplies digital map data for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, has integrated detailed lane information for certain highway junctions, and for airports, into its map of Germany. The enhancements include the total number of lanes along a stretch of roadway, how and where lanes connect and depart, and lane time/usage restrictions. The firm plans to add such information to its maps of Western Europe and North America next year. North American test files are available for limited intersections in the Los Angeles and Detroit areas.
