Innovasic Semiconductor has introduced the IA88C00, a form, fit and function replacement for the ZiLOG Z88C00 eight-bit microcontroller used in automotive, as well as industrial and consumer applications.
Mike Berg, vice president of sales and marketing, said the Innovasic part “provides customers with a viable and convenient alternative when faced with replacing or redesigning the discontinued Z88 for their systems.”
The clone MPU is manufactured using Innovasic’s Managed IC Lifetime Extension System (MILES) technology, which consists of a proprietary methodology, copyrighted software and EDA tools. Berg said the technology captures the design of a clone and verifies it against the original so that even undocumented features are duplicated.
