Spotlight on Digital Power
Gartner Dataquest ranked Freescale Semiconductor as the top supplier of 32-bit embedded processors in 2004, with a 28.2% market share, and the top supplier of eight-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers for automotive applications. Gartner also ranked Freescale No. 2 overall in microcontrollers, and No. 2 in digital signal processors.
“As the center of innovation shifts away from the PC, Freescale is well-positioned to take advantage of opportunities in the embedded space,” said Sumit Sadana, Freescale senior vice president of strategy and business development. “We understand the unique design, quality and power requirements of these applications.”
