Spotlight on Digital Power
ABB’s Robotic, Automotive and Manufacturing group has shipped six TrueView vision guided robotics (VGR) systems to Ford’s engine plant in Romeo, Mich. The systems are based on eVisionFactory (eVF) software from Braintech Inc.
Using single-camera 3-D technology, five of the systems process cylinder heads through machining, assembly and decking onto the engine block. The sixth locates intake manifolds for placement onto a fixture for further processing.
