BEI Technologies Inc. has invested approximately $2 million for a 6% equity stake in NCTEngineering (NCTE) GmbH and signed a technology license agreement with the German firm for proprietary non-contact torque measurement technology currently used in Formula 1 racing cars.
“NCTE's magnetic torque sensing technology fits well in BEI's expanding product portfolio for automotive and industrial torque sensing requirements,” says BEI chairman and CEO Charles Crocker.
Among other products, BEI Technologies, Inc. manufactures micromachined quartz rate sensors for use in advanced vehicle stability control systems; electronic steering wheel position sensors, seat-memory modules, throttle position sensors, and inertial navigation systems.
