AEC qualifies Cypress programmable SoCs

Nov 4, 2004 12:17 PM

The Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) has qualified Cypress Semiconductor Corp.’s CY8C24xxx and CY8C27xxx programmable System-on-Chip (PSoC) mixed-signal arrays. Cypress MicroSystems CEO George Saul says the firm has already chalked up PSoC design wins in power train and body electronics, as well as safety, security and infotainment systems.

At Electronica in Munich next week, Cypress plans to show a LIN 2.0 evaluation board and reference designs for an electroluminescent backlight instrument panel, a digital compass, and a capacitive sensor. The firm also expects to lay out plans for LIN and CAN bus support, USB and wireless USB for entertainment console applications, CMOS image sensors for lane tracking and obstacle detection, and solar cells in sunroofs.
