Spotlight on Digital Power
The Automotive Division of Novotechnik U.S. (Livonia, MI) has introduced new TEX and LWX potentiometers for linear motion measurement. The devices use Novotechnik's patented pressure compensation system to prevent differential pressures across shaft seals during mechanical, automation, vehicle and robotic operations.
"Our patented pressure equalization technology is also helping to prevent liquids being pulled through the shaft seals, a problem found with some non-equalized linear sensors," says Novotechnik Division Director Michael McClish.
Both products feature all-metal construction and were designed to withstand the harshest environments. Both are said to have high resistance to vibration and shock, a seal rating of IP67 (approximately NEMA 6/6P), and proven life cycles of up to 50 million movements. TEX has a stainless steel exterior body for added rigidity, while providing direct, absolute measurement of displacement. A sealed connector is available as an option
